The New York Mets were one of the worst defensive teams in Major League Baseball this year so it comes as no surprise that when Rawlings announced their Gold Glove finalists today that no Metropolitans were mentioned.

Here is the list for finalists at each National League position:

First Base

Joey Votto – Reds
Paul Goldschmidt – Diamondbacks
Anthony Rizzo – Cubs

Second Base

DJ LeMahieu – Rockies
Dee Gordon – Marlins
Ben Zobrist – Cubs

Shortstop

Freddy Galvis – Phillies
Brandon Crawford – Giants
Corey Seager – Dodgers

Third Base

Nolan Arenado – Rockies
Anthony Rendon – Nationals
David Freese – Pirates

Left Field

Gerardo Parra – Rockies
Adam Duvall – Reds
Marcell Ozuna – Marlins

Center Field

Billy Hamilton – Reds
Michael Taylor – Nationals
Ender Inciarte – Braves

Right Field

Jason Heyward – Cardinals
Giancarlo Stanton – Marlins
Yasiel Puig – Dodgers

Catcher

Tucker Barnhart – Reds
Yadier Molina – Cardinals
Buster Posey – Giants

Pitcher

R.A. Dickey – Braves
Zack Greinke – Diamondbacks
Zach Davies – Brewers

One that sticks out the for me is Freddy Galvis at shortstop despite -5 defensive runs saved this year while Brewers Zack Cozart had 1 DRS and slightly beat out Galvis in UZR (3.7 to 3.6).

Also what about Ben Zobrist at second base despite playing only 541 innings at the position? Juan Lagares had 15 DRS (led the NL) in only 566 innings for the Mets this year.

You can read all of the American League finalists over at Rawlings. The winners will be unveiled on ESPN Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
