With three teams now looking for a manager and even more searching for a hitting coach, it’s believed that Kevin Long is likely to leave the Mets for greener pastures according to Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports.

Long is already scheduled to interview for the Washington Nationals’ manager gig and the New Yankees will be searching for a new manager with Joe Girardi not coming back for 2018.

Long also interviewed for the Mets managerial opening and at one point was seen as a favorite to land the job before New York ultimately hired former Cleveland Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway.

The 50-year-old Long has been the Mets hitting coach for the past three seasons after holding the same position for the Yankees from 2007 until 2014.
