The New York Mets removed lefty Tommy Milone from the 40-man roster. He cleared waivers and elected for free agency.
Milone, 30, went 0-3 with a 8.56 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and nine home runs allowed in 27.1 innings for the Mets after they claimed him off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers in May.
The Mets continue to clean up their 40-man roster after outrighting five playing on Wednesday night including Erik Goeddel. They currently have 34 players on the 40-man roster and three on the 60-day disabled list.

The Mets have removed right-handed relief pitcher Erik Goeddel from their 40-man roster, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.
Goeddel has reportedly cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
The 28-year-old debuted with the Mets in 2014 and has pitched to a 3-4 record with a 3.96 ERA, 3.98 FIP, 1.204 WHIP and 9.4 K/9 over 110 career games.
He missed time at the end of last month with biceps tendinitis after missing almost two weeks with dizziness and blurred vision.
His best season in New York came in 2015 when he appeared in 35 games and logged a 2.43 ERA.
In addition to Goeddel, the Mets have also outrighted Tyler Pill, Travis Taijeron, Phillip Evans and Wuilmer Becerra off the 40-man roster.
Pill, Taijeron, Becerra and Evans all cleared waivers. Pill, Taijeron and Evans are scheduled to become free agents.
