After a long day of waiting, Mets fans can take a sigh of relief.

Mets first baseman Pete Alonso passed all his imaging and Anthony DiComo reports that Alonso has no breaks or fractures in his right hand.

On Tuesday against the Padres, Alonso was hit in the right wrist area by Yu Darvish. Alonso went to the ground in pain and was removed. J.D. Davis came in to play first base.

“I’m kind of surprised in a good way how it feels today,” Alonso said.

Now the Mets are in a wait-and-see with Alonso’s hand. It’s being described as a true day-to-day situation with Alonso needing the swelling in the area to subside before he plays again. He is not in Wednesday’s lineup.

“When I’m out there, I’m just happy to be out there and help my team win,” Alonso said.
