The Marlins dropped two of three to the Colorado Rockies, including a split of Saturday’s doubleheader, and will face the hot San Diego Padres. Jorge Cantu’s hit streak ended in Game 2 of the doubleheader, as he went 0-4.
Washington Nationals: (10-9; -1.5)
The Nationals beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 1-0 behind 7 shutout innings by Scott Olsen. Seriously. The Nationals took two of three from the Manny-less Dodgers and will head to Chicago to play the Cubs.
Atlanta Braves: (8-10; -3)
The Atlanta Braves were swept, but you knew that already. The Braves travel to St. Louis for a four game series with the Cardinals. Nothing new here.
Weekly Stat: This one is inspired by Tommy Hanson, getting the first hit by a Brave pitcher. Now they’re batting avg. from pitchers jumps to .032. The Phillies lead the division in pitcher’s batting avg. at .200. The Mets, Marlins, and Nationals pitchers are batting .194, .157, .146 respectively. In fact, Roy Halladay had a .200 average himself. Oh, and Mike Pelfrey has a higher OPS than Jason Bay.
