Mets outfield prospect Brandon Nimmo was injured Wednesday evening in Portland during the B-Mets vs. SeaDogs game.
Nimmo, a first round pick in 2011, was injured during an awkward slide into second base legging out a double and had to be helped off the field.
It looked like a serious leg injury and Nimmo was in agonizing pain.
But after the game Mets assistant general manager John Ricco called it a “pinch” and Nimmo had no issue walking to the team bus after the game.
Nimmo was batting .270 for Binghamton with three doubles, two homers and six RBI in 70 at-bats.
