vic black

Good news for the Mets bullpen.

According to NorthJersey.com Mets right handed reliever Vic Black was able to begin throwing on flat ground Wednesday as he continues to try to recover from his neck injury.

Vic has been sidelined with a herniated disk in his left neck since last week. Manager Terry Collins said that the team will be careful with his injury and bring him up slowly just like they plan to do with their other injured reliever Bobby Parnell.

“When he does get back on the mound they’ll slow that progression down so we don’t have a recurrence of what he’s gone through for the last month,” said Collins. “It seems like every other time he threw that disc flared up on him.”

The Mets bullpen has been pitching well overall despite the absences of key relievers like Vic Black. But like Parnell, the Mets pen will definitely get a boost with Vic Black’s return. But just like Parnell, the Mets will also be cautious with Black and will bring him up once they’re sure that he’s completely ready to go.
