The New York Mets traveled to Disney and lost to the Atlanta Braves by a score of 3-2.

The Braves scored all three runs off starter Bartolo Colon who was scalped to the tune of three earned runs on five hits, a walk and a strikeout in three innings pitched. It really was just one bad inning for Colon, the third, when he was victimized by a two-run homer by first baseman Freddie Freeman.

The bullpen did their job combining for five scoreless innings. Buddy Carlyle tossed two blank frames, while Dario Alvarez, Zack Thornton and Erik Goeddel threw a scoreless inning each.

Wilmer Flores had the only extra-base hit, a double in three at-bats. Kirk Nieuwenhuis was hitless but walked twice and scored a run. The two of them are having great springs offensively.

Travis d’Arnaud returned to the lineup and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. He also gunned down a runner trying to steal. John Mayberry Jr. had two hits including an RBI single in the first inning.

On Deck: The Mets travel to Jupiter, Florida, on Wednesday to face the Marlins (again!) at 1:05 pm. Matt Harvey will make his second start of the spring and is slated to throw 50 pitches. Noah Syndergaard will follow him again and pitch in relief. Onward and upward…
