According to Mets.com,

Mets right-hander Nelson Figueroa (Mets) didn’t surrender a hit over nine innings for the Cardenales. He fanned 10 and allowed a hit and a walk over nine-plus frames en route to the victory.

Entering the 10th inning with a 1-0 lead, Figueroa gave up a single to center field to Zulia’s Alberto Callaspo (Royals).

Geez…

Even when a Mets pitcher throws nine hitless innings, he still can’t get a no-hitter…

Not even in the Venezuelan League!

I have a theory… Maybe the Mets are cursed?

After all, didn’t the Mets trade baseball’s All Time King of No Hitters in Nolan Ryan?

Maybe we are suffering from the Curse of Ryan’s Express!

The guy gets traded by the Mets, throws seven no-hitters, and the Mets can’t even throw one?

It’s gotta be a curse, its just gotta…
