Good morning, Mets fans!

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ offseason has been one for the ages as they have spent over $1 billion on just two of their winter additions. While Shohei Ohtani‘s $700 million contract has been official for over a week now, the Dodgers made the second of their two big signings official as they introduced Yoshinobu Yamamoto at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday. Among the quotes, Yamamoto said he probably would have ended up signing with the Dodgers regardless of Ohtani’s free agent decision.

Along with his opening monologue, spoken in English, the Japanese superstar pitcher also mentioned how winning was very important in his final decision. “It was very important for me to go to a team that wants to win,” he said. The Dodgers provided that opportunity the most.”
