Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that rookie outfielder Jasson Domínguez has a torn UCL. Domínguez first began feeling pain during the team’s series in Houston, but the pain worsened over the last week.

The Mets begin a seven-game homestand with the first of four games against Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday night. José Quintana (2-5, 3.00 ERA) will face off against Zach Davies (2-5, 6.81 ERA) on the mound. Back in July, the Mets swept the D-Backs at Chase Field in a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

The Mets have promoted their third-ranked prospect, Jett Williams, to Double-A Binghamton, according to MMO‘s Michael Mayer. The 19-year-old shortstop tore up the South Atlantic League for High-A Brooklyn, hitting .299/.451/.567 with seven homers, nine doubles, 12 steals, and 33 walks against 32 strikeouts in 36 games. While the Cyclones had their season ended yesterday, the Rumble Ponies begin their playoffs against the Reading Fightin’ Phils on Tuesday.

DJ Stewart delivered a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning, and five Mets pitchers combined to shut out the Twins as the Mets salvaged their series in Minnesota with a 2-0 win. Tylor Megill threw five innings, walking four but only allowing two hits. Brooks Raley pitched a scoreless eighth inning to earn the win, and Adam Ottavino wriggled out a two-out, one-on jam to earn the save.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported Sunday that the Angels are open to trading Mike Trout if he requests one. The three-time MVP is owed $248.5 million over the next seven years and has a full no-trade clause, but he said recently that he wants a conversation with ownership and the front office. Trout has once again been hampered by injuries, missing most of the second half due to a fractured hammate bone.
