Morning Briefing: Yankees, Astros Lining Up For ALCS

On Saturday, the Yankees took a 2-0 lead in their ALDS against the Twins, winning 8-2. Masahiro Tanaka collected the win, pitching five innings, giving up just one run on three hits, and racking up seven strikeouts. Didi Gregorius put an explanation point on the Yankees performance, hitting a grand slam.

The Astros defeated the Rays in their ALDS to take a 2-0 lead in their series, winning 3-1. Gerrit Cole had a sparkling outing, throwing 7.2 scoreless innings and collecting 15 strikeouts. Alex Bregman provided some power in the lineup, crushing a solo home run.

Today, it’s the NL’s turn to showcase their divisional series’s. Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals will face off against Mike Soroka and the Braves at 4:10 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on TBS.

Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Dodgers will face off against the Nationals, who have yet to determine their starter for the game, at 7:45 p.m.EST. The game will be televised on TBS.
