Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas told Rob Bradford of WEEI.com that he’s open to discussing a long-term contract with the team. While no such talks between Casas and the Red Sox have happened yet, the 23-year-old spoke highly of Boston and said he’d like to remain there the rest of his life. Casas played in 27 games for the Red Sox in 2022 and had an impressive 20% walk rate in 95 plate appearances.

Right-handed pitcher Matt Bowman has re-signed with the Yankees on a minor-league contract, according to his MLB.com transactions log. A former 13th-round pick by the Mets, Bowman hasn’t thrown a pitch at any level since 2019, having undergone Tommy John surgery in 2020.
