Good morning, Mets fans!
Timmy Trumpet has arrived in New York City ahead of his appearance at Citi Field today. He is set to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game and will play the trumpets live if Edwin Díaz enters the game.
Also coming to Citi Field tonight are the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers, who have 44 of their last 54 games and have the best record in baseball at 89-38. The two teams split a four-game series at Dodger Stadium back in June, which featured Adonis Medina picking up a save in the 10th inning of the series finale. Taijuan Walker (10-3, 3.38 ERA) will take the mound for the Mets against southpaw Andrew Heaney (2-1, 1.94 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm.
