Good Morning Mets Fans!!

Noah Syndergaard (2-3, 5.02 ERA) takes the mound today as he’ll look to stop the Mets four-game skid. The Padres will pitch another rookie hurler, Cal Quantrill (0-1, 3.18 ERA). The game can be viewed on SNY at WCBS 880 at 10:10 p.m.

The Mets’ bats were stifled by Chris Paddack, NL’s ERA leader. Despite pitching seven masterful innings of two-run ball, Jacob deGrom received the loss as, yet again, he received no run support. The Mets’ paltry offense has scored four runs in the latest five games. Justin Wilson‘s return from IL didn’t go to plan as the lefty allowed two runs in the eighth inning to prevent a Mets’ comeback.

Paddack easily won the battle between two of the top rookies in the NL. After Pete Alonso was named the NL Rookie of the Month for April, Paddack and his family openly called him out on social media. While it was definitely intriguing to see how the Polar Bear-Sheriff matchup would fare, Paddack took care of Alonso easily, holding the slugger hitless.
