Robert Gsellman had a start to forget on Wednesday night as he pitched just four innings while allowing six runs, five of which were earned. He gave up a career-high 10 hits while walking three and striking out two. Gsellman attributed his rough start due to a mechanical issue and a cold night. Read more from Brian Heyman in Newsday.

In some good news regarding the rotation, both Seth Lugo and Steven Matz have been throwing without any issues and are close to taking the next step in their rehab. It is expected that both pitchers will soon begin to pitch off a mound as they try and get back to Queens where the team could use some reinforcements. Manager, Terry Collins has confidence that Jose Reyes will come around and be the leadoff man that this team needs. Reyes batted eighth in Wednesday night’s 8-2 loss to Atlanta and went 1-for-3 with a walk. So far on the season he has hit to a paltry .104/.189/.134 batting line.
