Good morning, Mets fans!

What are David Stearns’ expectations for 2024?

The Mets’ president of baseball operations said he expects the team to be competing for a playoff spot in an interview with Andy Martino of SNY.

“We should be competing for a playoff spot, we should be competing for a team that has the ability to make the playoffs,” Stearns said. “That’s certainly our expectation for our team. I believe we’ll be able to meet that expectation and we should have exciting baseball in September and October for our fans to be proud of.”

Stearns opened up about his first offseason, the signing of Sean Manaea, the potential addition of a full-time designated hitter and the temptation of making big splashes.
