Good morning, Mets fans!

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, there are rumors circulating about the possibility of David Stearns, the former executive of the Milwaukee Brewers, joining the New York Mets in 2024 as the leader of the team’s baseball operations. The speculation suggests that Mets owner Steve Cohen and Stearns could potentially strike a significant deal, potentially the largest ever for a baseball executive. If the deal were to materialize, Stearns would likely assume a baseball president title. When asked about these rumors, Cohen did not provide any comments, leaving the possibility open. The rumors were initially mentioned two weeks ago and have gained more traction, with USA Today now stating that Stearns is “expected” to take over the Mets, his hometown team.

Now onto the morning briefing!
