Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets got themselves back in the win column Friday with a victory over the Angels, 7-3. Brandon Nimmo and Mark Canha got big hits and drove in a combined six runs in the win.

Tylor Megill did well in his first start back off the IL, and the bullpen did a great job behind him. David Peterson, Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Adam Ottavino, and Edwin Diaz combined to allow only one run for 5.2 innings over the course of the game.

Liz Evangelou provided further information in the game recap.

The major news of the day was that Robinson Cano was brought back by the Padres on a minor league deal, as AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reported. The Padres just released Cano last week after hitting only .091 in a small sample in San Diego.
