The Mets lost reliever Rico Garcia to waivers, as the Yankees claimed the right-hander after the Mets DFA’d him earlier this week, per MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo. Garcia pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in two outings with the Mets this season.

Outfielder Travis Jankowski elected free agency rather than report to Triple-A Syracuse. In limited big-league action, Jankowski slashed .244/.286/.575 over 45 at-bats with three different teams this season.
