Good morning, Mets fans!

Brandon Nimmo was a goldfish in the 10th inning for the Mets when he hit a walk-0ff double to give them a 4-3 win at Citi Field to split the Subway Series with the Yankees. Nimmo misplayed a ball on Tuesday night in the Mets’ 7-6 loss and had a baserunning gaffe in the seventh inning on Wednesday. Still, he was able to move past both of those mistakes and be the third player in team history to have a walk-off hit in extra innings against the Yankees. The other two are Pete Alonso and Jason Bay.

It was an important outing from Justin Verlander as he looks to return to his 2022 self. The 40-year-old allowed only one run in six innings and struck out six with no walks. You can read the full recap here.

Right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernández had his rehab assignment with the St. Lucie Mets shut down because of side discomfort. He threw off flat ground on Wednesday, and there’s no timetable for his return to game action. The 28-year-old was acquired by the Mets during the offseason in a trade with the Marlins and has yet to make his first MLB outing with his new team.

Right-handed pitcher Stephen Nogosek refused his assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and chose to become a free agent instead.

Mets’ infield prospect Ronny Mauricio (ankle bone bruise) returned to action on Wednesday for Triple-A Syracuse. He went 0-for-3 with two walks, a stolen base, and his 13th error (7th at 2B) of the season.
