Triple-A

Syracuse Mets (26-38) 5, Buffalo Bisons (29-36) 3

BOX SCORE

In his second game with Syracuse, Voit continues to make a good first impression. In the top of the first, Voit hit a two-run home run for his first in a Mets uniform and it was absolutely crushed.

The Voit home run was the only extra-base hit that the offense had. The only player with a multi-hit game was Arauz, who had a multi-hit performance in three of the last six games he appeared in. After missing time, Mauricio returned to the lineup with a bone bruise on his ankle. He did make his 13th error of the season, including his seventh at second base.

  • RHP Denyi Reyes (5.88 ERA: 4 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 2 BB, 4 K (54 of 85 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Dedniel Nuñez (1-3, 4.15): 1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, BB, K (9 of 17 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Zach Muckenhirn (1.03): 2 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, K, WP (17 of 32 pitches for strikes)
  • LHP T.J. McFarland (2.73): 1 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, K, WP (15 of 22 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Dennis Santana (2nd save, 3.63): 1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, K (9 of 12 pitches for strikes)

Even though Reyes had a short outing, the Mets bullpen combined only to allow one run over the final five innings to help preserve the win. Muckenhirn was the only reliever to throw multiple innings, but he was able to bounce back after a rough outing in Pittsburgh last Friday.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (28-29) had their game against the Portland Sea Dogs (36-22) postponed due to inclement weather. They will have the game made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday with Game 1 beginning at 5 p.m ET.

 High-A

Brooklyn Cyclones (25-33) 5, Aberdeen Ironbirds (29-29) 4

BOX SCORE

Smith was able to have a career night. The fifth Round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft had the first game of his career in which he had more than two hits. He drove in runs with RBI singles in the top of the first and the third inning. William Lugo was able to drive in a run with a solo home run in the fifth.

On another note, the Cyclones were 5-for-7 on stolen base attempts with De Los Santos picking up his 22nd stolen base of the year. His three-hit performance was the second he has had this month and he got the scoring started in the first with an RBI single.

  • RHP Joander Suarez (2-4, 7.68): 5 IP, 3 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 8 K, WP (48 of 86 pitches for strikes)
  • LHP Quinn Brodey (2.60): 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, BB (8 of 14 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Brendan Hardy (0.00): 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, BB, 2 K (7 of 11 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Joshua Cornielly (4.13): 2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 K (23 of 38 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Benito Garcia (1st save, 2.00): 1 IP. 0 ER, 3 H, K (10 of 15 pitches for strikes)

In this outing, Suarez ended up tying his season-high with eight strikeouts, and he ended up completing five innings for the fourth time this year. The only mistake pitch that he had came on a solo home run by Dylan Beavers in the bottom of the fourth.

The Cyclones pitchers combined to have 14 strikeouts, and Aberdeen was 2-for-12 as a team with men in scoring position. Hardy has thrown the ball well since coming off the IL, as he has not allowed an earned run in three of his four appearances this year.

Low-A

St. Lucie Mets (21-37) 10, Palm Beach Cardinals (34-25) 1

BOX SCORE

The Mets offense was able to get hot out of the gate, with 7 of their 10 runs coming in the first two innings. Perozo cleared the bases with a triple in the top of the first and he extended his hit streak to six games.

Tilien followed that up with a three-run triple of his own in the second. On a top prospect note, Williams drove in a run via a walk in the fifth and an RBI single in the ninth. In total, 7 of the 9 players in the St. Lucie lineup had at least one hit, with McIntosh leading the way with three hits (most in a game this year), and the offense drew 11 walks.

  • RHP Layonel Ovalles (4.33): 1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, WP, 2 HBP (7 of 12 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Stephen Ridings (3.00): 1 IP. 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K (10 of 11 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Saul Garcia (2-4, 5.01); 4 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 BB, 6 K, HBP (47 of 75 pitches for strikes)
  • RHP Joe Joe Rodriguez (1st save, 8.00): 3 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 3 K (31 of 58 pitches for strikes)

Ovalles got the start in this game and only went one inning. He was followed up by Ridings, who was efficient in his workload, with 10 of 11 pitches being strikes and he had two strikeouts in the second inning. Garcia played the role of the bulk reliever and the 20-year-old right-hander had a new season-high with six strikeouts. He has recorded five or more strikeouts in five of his last six starts.
