Happy Halloween, Mets fans!
Andy Martino of SNY reported that the Mets have interest in Rays executive Carlos Rodriguez, and the Brewers’ Matt Kleine for their general manager opening. However, both teams have continuously denied the Mets permission to talk to other front office candidates. This has led the Mets to be hesitant on asking these teams for permission considering they have been constantly turned around. This could possibly set a precedent going forward with other opportunities between the Mets and Rays/Brewers.
Game 4 of the 2021 World Series was a classic. The back-and-forth game between the Astros and Braves provided plenty of highlights. A Jose Altuve solo home run in the fourth put the Astros up 2-0, but that didn’t hold until the end. Austin Riley got the Braves on the board with an RBI-double in the sixth, getting the Braves offense going. In the bottom of the seventh, the Braves found another gear. Dansby Swanson hit an opposite-field home run to tie the game at two, and Jorge Soler followed it up with a go-ahead pinch-hit homer to left.
Will Smith shut it down for the Braves, completing a game four victory of the Astros, 3-2. The Braves are now 6-0 at home this postseason, and look to make it 7-0 and a World Series winner in game five. Framber Valdez will get the ball in game five for the Astros, and the Braves haven’t announced a starter.
