The Salt River Rafters lost to the Glendale Desert Dogs 5-4 Saturday night. The team’s current record is 6-8 (.429). Four Mets prospects had an at-bat in the game, and zero Mets prospects pitched in Saturday night’s contest. Below are the hitting statistics from Saturday night’s game.

Carlos Cortes had a double in the second inning against Angels prospect Zach Linginfelter. Later in the second inning, Cortes had an error in left field that helped the Desert Dogs score their first run.

Wilmer Reyes had a somewhat uneventful night, but he did manage to hit a single to right field in the 5th inning sending Hayden Senger to second base. He was eventually sent home by a Dominic Canzone double that also scored Senger in the process.

Hayden Senger had a big Saturday night by hitting a couple of singles and scoring a run on Canzone’s double described above.

Finally, Brett Baty went 0-3 in this game including two strikeouts, but he hit a sacrifice fly to right fielder Lars Nootbaar, a prospect of the St. Louis Cardinals, to score Dominic Canzone.

Overall, it was a good night for the Mets organization as the four prospects all positively contributed to the team efforts, even if the Rafters were unable to secure the victory.

The Salt River Rafters will have their next game on Monday, November 1, at 3:35 PM eastern time.
