Good Morning Mets Fans!!

Today, Chris Flexen will make his first start if the year in place of Jacob deGrom, who was placed on the IL yesterday. The Mets will look to win their first series since sweeping the Marlins during the first week of April.

Miles Mikolas will take the hill for the Cards. The game is at 2:15 p.m. and can be viewed on WPIX 11 and WBCS 880.

Good News: Vargas had his best start of the season, an encouraging outing in which he only allowed one run

Bad News: Four innings of one-run ball is not a good start for literally any other starter in baseball. Vargas lowered his ERA by four runs before handing the ball off to Seth Lugo to start the fifth inning.

Meanwhile, on the offensive side, the Mets tagged Adam Wainwright for four early runs before knocking him out in the fourth inning. Two innings later, Pete Alonso extended the Mets lead with a 432-foot blast. He’s now the MLB leader in barrels with 14.
