Morning Briefing: Mets Swept By Orioles

Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets’ series against the Orioles concluded with another Pete Alonso homer and another Orioles win. The Mets have now lost four straight after being swept Baltimore. They trail Washington by 1.5 games for fourth place in the NL East.

The Mets announced a series of roster moves, including placing Robert Stock on the injured list due to numbness in his fingers. He had been scheduled to start Wednesday. Jefry Yan was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and ended up pitching three perfect innings with three strikeouts.

Baseball America gave the Mets a B in its latest farm system grades for each MLB team.

Carlos Beltrán’s Hall of Fame plaque will be on display Saturday at the Mets Museum to celebrate his induction.
