They secured an impressive 16-4 win, solidifying their victory in the shortened three-game series during which they tallied 29 runs, bringing their season record to 5-7. Max Kranick‘s second rehab appearance with the Low-A St. Lucie Mets was disappointing as he only lasted one inning, giving up five hits and four earned runs with one walk and two strikeouts. Kranick is currently rehabbing from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that he sustained during spring training.

The New York Mets have traded reliever Yohan Ramírez to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash considerations.

Tim Healey of Newsday reports that Julio Teheran elected free agency. He was designated for assignment after a rough outing against the Atlanta Braves on Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks through 2 2/3 innings.

The New York City Council overwhelmingly (47-1) approved the Willets Point Phase II Redevelopment Plan, completing the ULURP process. This collaboration between the Queens Development Group, Council Member Francisco Moya and the New York City Football Club promises 100% affordable housing units, a new soccer stadium and economic revitalization for Willets Point.

According to Kiley McDaniel of ESPN, left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery has enlisted Wasserman’s Joel Wolfe and Nick Chanock as his representatives, as confirmed by sources. Montgomery was part of the group known as the “Boras Four” alongside Blake Snell, Matt Chapman and Cody Bellinger, all of whom remained unsigned well into free agency.

As reported by Alden González of ESPN, Ippei Mizuhara, the longtime interpreter and trusted companion of Shohei Ohtani, faces charges of bank fraud. Federal authorities in Los Angeles revealed that Mizuhara allegedly transferred over $16 million from Ohtani’s account to an illicit sportsbook.

Sam Blum of The Athletic notes that US Attorney Martin Estrada said the bank account was set up by Mizuhara in 2018. He mentions that Ippei’s illegal gambling began in 2021, and his bets became more and more prevalent as time went on. Mizuhara later admitted to bookmakers he was stealing from Ohtani, as stated by Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Blum also reported that Mizuhara is set to surrender himself to authorities.

Perfect Game USA released their 2024 Mock Draft for picks 1 to 39. It has the Mets selecting Brody Brecht, a right-handed pitcher from Iowa.

Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Atlanta Braves have optioned Allan Winans to Triple-A Gwinnett after he was torched for seven runs, six of them earned, over five innings in a loss to the Mets.

1995: On April 12, 1995, the Mets traded Andy Beckerman and Juan Castillo to the Houston Astros for pitcher Pete Harnisch. Harnisch debuted for the Mets on April 29, 1995, earning a no-decision in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He struggled with clinical depression in 1997, missing four months of the season. Upon his return, he was moved to the bullpen after a confrontation with manager Bobby Valentine. Eventually, the Mets traded Harnisch to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor leaguer Donnie Moore. In total, Harnisch played parts of three seasons with New York, finishing with a record of 10-21 and a 4.33 ERA.
