Good Morning Mets fans!

On Tuesday, the New York Mets (16-21) will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks (22-18) at 9:40 PM. Tommy Milone (1-0, 5.88 ERA) will take the ball for the Mets and will be opposed Zack Greinke (4-2, 2.79 ERA).

Last night, the Mets lost their fifth straight game as the Arizona Diamondbacks took the first game of the series by a score of 7-3. Hansel Robles and Josh Edgin allowed six runs in the eighth inning to spoil a solid start by Zack Wheeler and drop the Mets to five games below .500.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Yoenis Cespedes has begun a running program as he seeks to return from a strained hamstring injury. Collins said it’s possible that he could rejoin the as soon as this week barring any setbacks. Cespedes has been getting regular at-bats in extended spring training.

Asdrubal Cabrera’s thumb is still bothering him. The Mets will have to make a decision on whether or not to DL him. James Wagner of the New York Times has more.

The Mets are considering skipping Robert Gsellman‘s turn in the rotation and using him out of the bullpen this week. Gsellman gave up six runs (five earned) and nine hits in four innings in his last start on Saturday. Read more in the New York Daily News.

Mets pitchers Steven Matz and Seth Lugo will both pitch for High-A St. Lucie on Thursday and they begin their rehab assignments, assistant GM John Ricco said on Monday. Matz, who suffered a flexor strain, and Lugo, who has a partially torn UCL, both pitched in extended spring training on Saturday.

Mike Puma of the New York Post has the latest on Amed Rosario’s timeline. Yesterday assistant GM John Ricco said that Rosario will not be promoted if Cabrera goes on the DL.
