The Mets will try to avoid getting swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight as they send Steven Matz to the mound to face Hyun-Jin Ryu. The game starts at 8 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN.

Yesterday, the Mets lost to the Dodgers 7-4. The Mets jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on solo shots from Michael Conforto, Wilmer Flores and Curtis Granderson in the first inning. They only scored one more run the rest of the game, however, on a Rene Rivera solo shot in the ninth.

On the pitching side, Seth Lugo took a no-hitter into the fifth inning, but allowed a two out double to Yasmani Grandal to break it up. He wound up with a no-decision as he would allow a solo homer to Chris Taylor and a two-run shot to Cody Bellinger in the sixth and couldn’t escape the inning.

The bullpen imploded yet again as Paul Sewald and Fernando Salas combined to allow three homers and four runs total in the last three innings.
