Good morning, Mets fans. Tonight the New York Mets will face off against the Washington Nationals in the Nation’s Capitol. Steven Matz will toe the rubber for New York and will face off against Stephen Strasburg.

The Mets will not see Max Scherzer or Gio Gonzalez this series which is great given how well those two have pitched against New York. Instead, they will see Joe Ross on Tuesday and Tanner Roark on Wednesday.

Yesterday, the Mets lost 7-1 against the Phillies. The defense was shaky yet again, particularly up the middle and at catcher. Rafael Montero had one bad inning and the offense was shut down by Nick Pivetta.
