Good morning, Mets fans!

Things don’t seem to be getting any easier for the New York Mets, as they drop their fifth game in a row and the second game of their series against the Baltimore Orioles, 7-3, on Saturday. Poor pitching and a lack of offense continue to be the storyline for the 2023 Mets after shipping away what feels like half their team at the trade deadline.

Tylor Megill took the mound for the Mets and exited the game having given up five earned runs over 4 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and striking out three.

The lone bright spots for the Mets on Saturday night were were the three runs driven in by  Jeff McNeil, who hit a two-run home run and an RBI double to account for the Mets offense, which mustered only five hits aside from McNeil’s pair.

The Mets have yet to record a win since the trade deadline.
