Binghamton Rumble Ponies (51-49) 4, New Hampshire Fishercats (44-53) 3 In 8 Innings

BOX SCORE

In Game 2, the buzz had to be around Gilbert as he had an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth for his first run driven. This is his first as a member of the Mets’ organization since being acquired in the Justin Verlander trade on Tuesday.

Acuña did a little bit of everything as well. He reached on a throwing error in the eighth as the winning run came around to score. He also stole second base in the fifth (first steal with Binghamton). In the seventh, he drew a leadoff walk and ended up being the tying run thanks to a sacrifice fly from Jackson.

Scott continues to be one of the rising stars in the Mets’ organization. The fifth-round pick in 2021 had a career-high 11 strikeouts and the one mistake he made came on a two-run home run in the fifth. Minnick threw a scoreless eighth inning to set up the walk-off win (sixth straight scoreless appearance).
