Legendary broadcaster Vin Scully died Tuesday, the Dodgers announced. He was 94 years old. One of his most famous calls was the final play of the Mets’ win in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

The Mets made a couple trades on Tuesday that brought Darin Ruf and Mychall Givens to New York. Their trade for Ruf noteably sent J.D. Davis to San Francisco.

The Mets were one of many teams who engaged in trades at the deadline. The trade that everyone was waiting for occurred as well as the Padres got the win for Juan Soto. They also acquired Josh Bell from the Nationals as well.

The Mets also saw their first appearance from Jacob deGrom on Tuesday. He pitched five innings, gave up just one earned run, and struck out six in his long-awaited return to the mound. The Mets dropped the game to the Nationals, though, losing 5-1 in Washington.

The New York Mets announced on Tuesday that they acquired infielder/outfielder Darin Ruf from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for infielder J.D. Davis, left-handed pitcher Thomas Szapucki, right-handed pitcher Carson Seymour, and left-handed pitcher Nick Zwack.

The New York Mets also announced Tuesday that they acquired right-handed pitcher Mychal Givens from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for right-handed pitcher Saul Gonzalez.

Per Zach Buchanan of The Athletic, According to farm director Josh Barfield, Druw Jones is set to have surgery to repair his posterial labrum in his left shoulder.

The Boston Red Sox announced on Tuesday that they acquired first baseman Eric Hosmer, minor league infielder Max Ferguson, minor league outfielder Corey Rosier, and cash considerations from the San Diego Padres in exchange for minor league left-handed pitcher Jay Groome.

The Tampa Bay Rays announced on Tuesday that they traded outfielder Brett Phillips to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash considerations.

According to Robert Murray of Fansided, the Seattle Mariners acquired Jake Lamb from the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash considerations.

According to Dan Hayes of The Athletic, the Minnesota Twins acquired right-handed pitcher Jorge Lopez from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for Cade Povich, Yennier Cano, Juan Nunez, and Juan Rojas.

The New York Yankees on Tuesday announced that they acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Clayton Beeter from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for outfielder Joey Gallo.

The Los Angeles Angels announced Tuesday that they acquired catcher Logan O’Hoppe from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for outfielder Brandon Marsh.

The Philadelphia Phillies announced on Tuesday that they acquired right-handed relief pitcher David Robertson from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for right-handed pitcher Ben Brown.

The Minnesota Twins also announced Tuesday that they acquired right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for infielders Spencer Steer, Christian Encarnacion-Strand, and left-handed pitcher Steve Hajjar.

Per Mark Feinsand of MLB Network, the Minnesota Twins also acquired left-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for right-handed pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long.

The Philadelphia Phillies also announced that they acquired right-handed pitcher Noah Syndergaard from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for outfielders Mickey Moniak and Jadiel Sanchez.
