On Saturday, the Mets’ offense was nonexistent during the team’s 3-1 road loss to the Oakland Athletics. The team totaled only five hits. David Peterson earned the starting nod, tossing six innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits,and striking out five.

After outfielder Jose Siri left Saturday’s loss early, the Mets‘ official X account announced Siri has suffered a left shin contusion and is listed as day-to-day. Siri has struggled at the plate through nine games, batting .054/.208/.100/.308.

The Mets look to secure the series win over the A’s today at 4:05 p.m. ET.
