In his first season of professional ball, the 19-year-old hit .263/.425/.451 with 13 homers, 22 doubles, eight triples, and 45 steals across three different levels. Williams also drew 104 walks in 534 plate appearances.

The Mets begin their final homestand of the season today with the first of three games against the Marlins at Citi Field. Joey Lucchesi (3-0, 2.88 ERA) will look to keep his recent surge going against southpaw Braxton Garrett (9-6, 3.53 ERA). Garrett was strong against the Mets last Tuesday, holding them to just one unearned run and five hits, striking out seven over six innings. The Mets have clinched the season series over Miami, having taken seven of the first 10 matchups between the two teams. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

In Game 1 of the Eastern League Championship Series, Jett Williams drew four walks, and Drew Gilbert cranked a game-tying three-run homer, but Erie rallied for three runs late to down the Rumble Ponies, 9-6. Blade Tidwell was charged with four runs (three earned) and allowed five hits, walking two and striking out seven over five innings. Christian Scott will take the hill in Erie tonight as Binghamton will look to keep their season alive. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Steven Rissotto of Sports Illustrated reports that the Giants expect outfielder Michael Conforto to opt out of the remaining $18 million of his contract this offseason. The former Met has hit .243/.339/.391 (101 OPS+) with 15 homers and 0.6 rWAR over 454 plate appearances this season.

2018: In his final start of the season, Jacob deGrom throws eight shutout innings against the Braves, striking out 10 and allowing just two hits without walking a batter, lowering his season ERA to 1.70. Michael Conforto and Dominic Smith both homer in the bottom of the eighth inning, and Seth Lugo tosses a clean ninth inning to preserve deGrom’s 10th win of the season.
