Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets promoted prospects Jett Williams and Jacob Reimer to High-A Brooklyn. A 2022 first-round pick, Williams has a .832 OPS and leads the Florida State League with a .422 OBP while swiping 32 bases in 38 tries. Reimer was a fourth-round pick in 2022 and has a .412 OBP with six home runs and 10 doubles this year. Tim Healey of Newsday was first on both promotions.

Additionally, the Mets promoted 2022 second-round pick Nick Morabito and Venezuelan-born infielder Diego Mosquera to Low-A St. Lucie. Morabito is hitting .327.437/.432 with 11 steals this season. Mosquera, meanwhile, has struck out just 15 times in 114 at-bats. He is a plus-plus defender that plays mostly shortstop. Our own Mike Mayer had the Morabito story first.

Justin Verlander earned his 250th career victory, holding the Nationals to just one run and five hits in 5 1/3 innings as the Mets took the series finale 5-2 and won three of four from Washington. Francisco Lindor went 3-for-4 with a home run, and Pete Alonso drove in two. The Mets finish the month of July with a 14-9 record. After the game, Verlander said he’s committed to winning with the Mets, but he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause if the team chooses that path.

The Mets have an off day today before beginning a three-game series against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. This will be the Mets’ first trip to Kansas City since 2019.

The Mets have reportedly expressed interest in Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach. A former first-round pick, Larnach is hitting .216/.314/.401 with six homers in 188 big-league plate appearances this year.
