Sources tell me that the Mets are getting lots of interest in left-handed reliever Brooks Raley. Twins and Dodgers are two of the many teams I’ve heard have talked to the Mets about Raley. The Twins have also shown interest in Tommy Pham, and the Dodgers are one of the more serious teams in on Justin Verlander.

Raley, 35, is having a good first season with the Mets, sporting a 2.37 ERA, has 43 strikeouts in 38 innings, and has picked up two saves in recent days after New York traded David Robertson. The 2.37 ERA would be the lowest in Raley’s big league career.

Raley does have a team option for the 2024 season at $6.5 million with a $1.25 million buyout.

The trade market for pitching has certainly favored sellers this year, and Raley would be one of the best relievers available if the Mets decide to trade him for the Tuesday deadline.

The Mets acquired Raley in the offseason from the Rays for left-handed pitching prospect Keyshawn Askew.
