Deesha Thosar, of the New York Daily News reported the Mets are no longer interested in pursuing Jackie Bradley Jr., following the addition of center fielder Albert Almora. Although, Julian McWilliams, of the Boston Globe, reported the Mets are still in on the center fielder.

Former Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes hired the Magnus Agency to represent him in favor of his former agent and former Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

The Athletic‘s Eno Sarris released his list for the 2021 top starting pitchers for fantasy baseball and to no surprise, Mets ace Jacob deGrom leads the pack at No. 1. Dodgers’ Trevor Bauer was listed at No. 7.

Former Mets reliever Chasen Shreve inked a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates, which guarantees him $1.5 million if he makes the big league roster, ESPN‘s Jeff Passan reported.

Veteran scout Tom Allison joined the Dodgers for a scouting role in the front office, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported. Allison was most recently with the Seattle Mariners, but he also spent some time with the Mets.

Trevor Bauer tweeted out an apology to Mets fans via his Twitter account.

Tragically, long time ESPN reporter Pedro Gomez died Sunday at the age of 58. “Pedro was far more than a media personality. He was a Dad, loving husband, loyal friend, coach and mentor,” the Gomez family said in a statement. “He was our everything and his kids’ biggest believer. He died unexpectedly at home this afternoon.”

Kevin Youkilis offered his perspective about youth sports in America during an interview on MLB Network Radio. The former Red Sox third baseman said parents forcing their children to play for multiple travel teams are trying to “keep up with the Joneses.” Youkilis continued to explain that baseball should be more affordable and the focus should be on having fun, not only on trying to make the big leagues.

Chris Cotillo of Masslive.com reported the Red Sox have made progress on a deal with Japanese reliever Hirokazu Sawamura. The deal will be a major league deal if completed.

Utility player Dee Strange-Gordon agreed to a minor-league deal with the Cincinnati Reds, according to Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.

Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reported the Toronto Blue Jays have expressed interest in the versatile utility player Marwin Gonzalez. However, Davidi wrote it is unclear exactly how interested the team truly is.

2004: The Mets brought back Todd Zeile for a second time after he was traded in 2002 to the Colorado Rockies. Zeile played in 137 games, clubbed nine home runs and drove in 35 runs in the ensuing season. His 2004 campaign was his final before retiring.
