Mets Hall of Famer Howard Johnson will receive the Thurman Munson Award at the 44th annual AHRC New York City Foundation dinner on March 14. The award recognizes individuals for their on-field excellence and the betterment of sports and their community. Four-time World Series champion Tino Martinez and NYC Basketball Hall of Famer Anne Gregory O’Connell are the other honorees.

The Mariners announced the signing of Ryne Stanek to a one-year deal. However, they placed Jackson Kowar on the 60-day IL and he will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a torn UCL.
