Good morning Mets fans! Matt Harvey is expected to make his first start of the spring this afternoon against the Atlanta Braves at Champion Stadium. It is expected that Harvey will be piggybacked by Zack Wheeler. The game starts at 1:05 p.m., but will not be aired on TV.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Mets were defeated by the Houston Astros by a score of 8-2 at First Data Field.

Steven Matz struggled, as he was tagged for five runs on three hits in one inning of work. He was able to start the second inning, but was removed before recording an out.

Kevin McGowan surrendered two runs in the ninth, but Matz’s rough outing proved to be the killer.

The Mets were held scoreless until the third inning when Jay Bruce drove in a run on a groundout. Bruce also registered a hit in his first Spring game.

Tim Tebow came on as a pinch hitter, but went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in his first spring game.
