Good morning, Mets fans!

As reported by Jorge Castillo of the LA Times, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Albert Pujols are in agreement on a major league deal for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Pujols was released by the Angels earlier in May. Jon Heyman of MLB Network elaborated on the deal saying Pujols and the Dodgers “are said to have had very open and honest conversations in which they explained a very limited role.” Pujols is expected to be all in on the agreement. It is expected he will serve in a pinch-hitter type role for the most part.

The Mets and Rays close out their series this afternoon at 1:10 pm at Tropicana Field. It will be Marcus Stroman (3-3, 2.01 ERA) taking the mound for the Mets this afternoon. The Mets will look to give the home town kid Pete Alonso one win in his hometown before leaving town.
