Morning Briefing: Cure The Sunday Blues!

The Mets will try to win the series against the Miami Marlins today and they will send Jacob deGrom to the mound to face Adam Conley. The game starts at 1:10 p.m. and will be aired on SNY.

Last night, the Mets beat the Marlins 8-1. Rafael Montero started the game for the Mets and had a very strong performance. He went six innings, allowed only one run, and struck out five batters.

The Mets bats struggled to get going against Vance Worley until the sixth inning when they scored seven runs. That attack was highlighted by two-run homers by Wilmer Flores and Kevin Plawecki. The Mets extended the lead in the eighth inning with a solo shot by Dominic Smith, the second of his MLB career and first at Citi Field.
