Good morning, Mets fans!

A collection of former Mets have found new teams. Late Monday night, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported that Javier Baez is close to signing a six-year contract with the Tigers. This came after a trio of former Mets signed with new teams earlier in the day.

Former Met José Peraza won’t have to move too far as the Yankees signed the 27-year-old to a minor league contract, per Eli Fishman of Pinstriped Prospects. Peraza played 64 games for the Mets in 2021, hitting for a .204 batting average.

Per Robert Murray of FanSided, 2021 Met Jerad Eickhoff is in agreement with the Pirates, pending a physical. The righty played in five games for New York last season, amounting to an 0-2 record and a 8.69 ERA on the bump.

Lastly, Washington has re-signed former Met Luis Avilán to a minor league contract on Monday, per Jon Heyman of MLB Network.  The veteran lefty played just four games for the Nats in 2021, pitching for a 12.60 ERA.

Let’s get into this morning’s briefing.
