Good morning Mets fans!

In an interview with the digital baseball show Foul Territory, former Mets manager Buck Showalter passionately discussed load management.

“We had a guy hit a triple and two doubles, and they said he probably needs a day off because he ran too much around the bases,” Showalter said during the interview. “I said ‘What do you want me to tell him? Don’t get anymore hits so you can play the next day? … You go out there and tell Brandon Nimmo he can’t play today because he hit too well last night.’”

Showalter discussed a number of other topics, including how the game has evolved analytically, the complexity of the New York media and a number of other topics.
