Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets beat the Phillies 7-2 Friday, as the offense followed Chris Bassitt‘s charge to victory. While Bassitt didn’t have his best stuff, he tossed six innings allowing two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts. Liz Evangelou provided a detailed recap of the game.

After the game, Mets first baseman Pete Alonso raved about Brett Baty and how he has quickly immersed himself with the team. “He’s a true pro… He fits like a glove right in the clubhouse… He’s been doing a hell of a job,” Alonso said. Baty had another great game, as he went 1-3 with two RBI.

Through his first three games, Baty is hitting .300 with a home run and four RBI over 10 at-bats.
