The ball was flying out of the yard for Syracuse, who scored 11 runs thanks in large part to Mark Vientos and the heart of that lineup. Carlos Domínguez hit his 20th homer of the season for St. Lucie, giving him the 15th 20/20 season (20 homers, 20 steals) in Mets minor league history. Ronny Mauricio also homered for Binghamton, his 23rd long ball of the year.

Dominic Smith homered for the second straight game and drove in four runs, while Mark Vientos and Daniel Palka each collected their 21st home run of the season, driving in three runs apiece. Francisco Álvarez went hitless in three at-bats, but he walked twice and scored both times he reached base.

José Butto got the start but was pulled after allowing a run in one inning of work. With the pitching depth of the organization being tested due to injuries at the major league level, Butto could be in line for a call-up should Taijuan Walker not be able to pitch for New York on Sunday. Butto is already on the 40-man roster.

Mike Montgomery took the ball from there and fought his way through 4 2/3 innings, earning a win for his troubles.

A+: Hudson Valley Renegades (59-51) 11, Brooklyn Cyclones (55-56) 4 Box Score

The Cyclones only got offense from their 2-3-4 hitters, as José Peroza, Alex Ramirez, and William Lugo each had multi-hit games but were the only players to record hits in a losing effort. Peroza drove in two runs, while Ramirez and Lugo each drove in one run. The rest of the starting lineup combined to go 0-for-20.

Tommy Hunter made his third rehab appearance since landing on the IL in early August, pitching two scoreless innings.
