Good morning, Mets fans!

The Angels have agreed to accept Anaheim’s cancellation of their deal with Angel Stadium. Bill Shaikin of The Los Angeles Times reported Friday. They are still looking to engage in further negotiations.

The Mets, meanwhile, played their first of three games against the Philadelphia Phillies at home this weekend, as they held on to win a close one.

The Mets were up top 7-0 early, but the Phillies scored six unanswered runs in the top of the sixth. The Mets added one more run in the bottom of the inning to make it 8-6.

Pete Alonso was the story of the game, as he drove in four runs with a double and a two-run homer. Carlos Carrasco was rolling until the sixth before he was charged with five of the six runs that scored that inning.

Edwin Diaz locked the game down in the top of the ninth with three strikeouts, to secure his 11th save of the season.

Liz Evangelou provided a full game recap.

The Mets, now 30-17, will play the Phillies again Saturday at 7:15 p.m. ET, as Zach Eflin takes the ball against Taijuan Walker.
