In Brandon Nimmo’s first game against the Mets, New York defeated the Rangers 6-3. The Mets rallied for three runs in the sixth inning after trailing 3-2, with Francisco Alvarez delivering the biggest hit, a two-run double. Carson Benge added an RBI double of his own in the seventh, while Sean Manaea struck out nine over six innings to earn the win.

The Mets will face the Rangers again today in Game 2 of the series. Nolan McLean (11-10, 3.18 ERA) is scheduled to start for New York, while Texas has yet to announce its starter. First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. ET and will air on SNY.

Former major leaguer Ji-man Choi was selected by the KT Wiz in the second round with the 15th overall pick of the KBO draft, as reported by KBO insider Daniel Kim. Choi is expected to begin his KBO career next season and play first base and designated hitter.
According to Tim Healey of The Boston Globe, the Red Sox removed the interim tag from Chad Tracy and named him their full-time manager.
