Monday Update:

David Wright played nine innings for St. Lucie Monday night and went 3 for 6 – all singles, with three runs scored.

Wright, on the DL with back injury, is now 6-of-15 with six runs scored and one RBI in four rehab games.

Mets manager Terry Collins said Wright will be activated this weekend, and that he will play a full nine innings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Sunday Update:

David Wright went 2-for-4 with a double, walk, run scored and an RBI on Sunday for Class A St. Lucie. Wright played all nine innings as the designated hitter.

The Mets expect Wright to rejoin the team on Friday in Miami when they begin a three-game series with the Florida Marlins.

Saturday Update:

David Wright is expected to play today for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League vs. Clearwater at 4 p.m. Today will be his third major league rehabilitation game.

Wright went 0-3 with a walk, run scored and stolen base last night for St. Lucie at Lakeland. He played 7.0 innings at third base and handled two chances cleanly. He is 1-5 with two runs scored in two games.

Wright was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on May 18, retroactive to May 16, with a lower back stress fracture. He is expected to be activated on Friday, July 22 when the Mets begin a series with the Marlins.

Friday Update:

David Wright (back injury) was played five innings tonight in a rehab game with Class-A St. Lucie.

The Mets third baseman doubled and scored a run in the first inning, walked in the third, and struck out in the fifth in his first game action in nearly two months. He didn’t get any chances playing in the field.

Afterward, Wright said he felt fine and that he expected to be in the lineup again tomorrow night when the St. Lucie Mets take on the Lakeland Flying Tigers at 6:00 PM.

Expect Wright to be activated on July 22, next Friday, when the Mets head to Florida for the start of a three game series against the Marlins.
