Mets fans, and all-new episode is here!

This week Mike and I recap the weekend sweep to Toronto Blue Jays, discuss the struggling Mets offense and Francisco Lindor‘s massive slump, Buck Showalter‘s continued frustrating decision-making, bullpen overuse, Tomas Nido‘s DFA announcement, and much more!

The Mets’ lack of offense was the obvious point of concern over the weekend after being swept by the Bluejays, but for Mike there isn’t just one issue the team needs to address to get things back on track:

“It’s tough to just point at one thing and say this is the one thing the Mets need to fix. We’re talking a lot about the offense right now, but actually the bigger issue I still think is the pitching. The starters have certainly pitched better recently outside of the Kodai Senga start over the weekend, but now we’re seeing some hiccups from guys in the bullpen that we haven’t seen much of this year as well as the backend guys . David Robertson has given up runs in three of his last five outings, Adam Ottavino has had some rocky outings the last couple of weeks, and even though now the starting pitching has been better of late, we’re seeing the affects of the bullpen picking up the slack from the beginning of the year catch up to them.”
